About the Filmmaker

Richard Sanchez is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder Film Program and has produced, shot, and written films that have been in The Denver International Film Festival(Local Spotlight), The Denver Underground Film Festival (Best Feature Award), The Denver International Experimental Film Festival, CineFestival in San Antonio, The Telluride International Experimental Film Festival, El Centro Su Teatro, and The REELHeads Film Festival at Danieal Fine Art Gallery in Littleton, Colorado.

During a two year baptism of fire in Hollywood, CA, Richard was involved with Producing, Editing, and raising funds for a High Definition film entitled The Violent Kind starring Mexican super star Jorge Rivero and Jaime Ray Newman who has appeared in Medium, Stargate: Atlantis, CSI, Nip/Tuck-among others-currently starring in Eastwick. The Violent Kind was shot SAG: Experimental which means the budget was required to be more than $85, 000, although the entire raise was much more due to office, staff, and producing requirements.

Richard then returned to Colorado and Executive Produced a 30 minute experimental short called Tangents: The Voices In My Head starring and written by local actor Amy Rome. The film was Directed by Jeff C. Archuleta and shot by Philip S. Beck and Jeff C. Archuleta. Tangents explored the inner turmoil of a female torn by unrealistic body image expectations, drug abuse, dysfunctional relationships-all culminating in implied abstraction of suicide and the very idea of what it is to be alive yet dead inside.
